Leader Magazine
WINTER 1962.
BOXING NOTES.
As far as boxing is concerned, the magazine goes to print at an unfortunate time, for we have won our way to the final of the Army Junior Boxing Cup. By the time the magazine appears, the results of this, against the Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion, will be known.
Our path to the final started at Pirbright, where we defeated the Junior Guardsmen by 32 pts. to 31. Then followed the home match against the Junior Leaders Regiment, Royal Signals, which we won by 34 pts. to 31. This brought us to the semi-final against the Junior Leaders Regiment, R.E., and it proved to be a match worthy of the occasion. The result was in doubt until the next to last fight, in which J/Pte. Sheldon won by a K.O., to scenes of vociferous delight.
