Having read your E-Mail i was impressed by what you are doing and achieving on behalf of Veterans, many of them struggling to adjust as you said to civilian life. Having served myself for 42 years, i was one of the lucky ones to come out fine but i know of many who didn't. After Brian who was the man who met some of the guys on the mountain and spoke at our dinner about your organisation. it was a no brainer to give the money to your group. we meet once a year at Barmouth at the Min-Y-Mor hotel on the last weekend in March as we have done since 2004. If you yourself ever wanted to come along and join us maybe even talk of what you are about you are more than welcome. |

REPLY FROM CAPTAIN (RETD) COLIN R JONES MBE | |||
Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all involved with Wales Armed Forces Veterans FC, to thank you and all your group for your kind generosity. The Wales Armed Forces Veterans Football Club is a significant milestone for the veteran community in Wales, the UK, and Northern Ireland. This team offers an international sporting voice and a chance to focus on the future, especially for those who have faced mental challenges due to past traumatic experiences. With a strong sense of camaraderie, teamwork, and pride, this club helps veterans reconnect and thrive after their service. Thank you for your donation. You are making an enormous difference in achieving our aim of supporting the Welsh Dragon Warriors. All the money raised helps the club to secure a sound financial platform that provides the structure to develop, promote and grow our national veterans football club. The team is selected from ex-armed forces service men from all over Wales. Our national veteran’s team has been selected to represent Wales in the 2026 Veterans World Cup an event organized by the Warriors World Cup; an organization that aims to help veterans play international football. Wales Armed Forces Veterans Football Club will participate in the first ever Armed Forces Veterans World Cup, which will take place between the 7th – 13th of September 2026. This year the Dragon Warriors are playing a few Veterans International against Jamaica, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These fixtures are organised in support of our veterans who struggle with adapting to civilian life after serving their country. The club is now actively seeking financial support, and all raised funding will help deliver the financial structure and branding that provides the quality support our Welsh Armed Forces Veterans deserve. |
