4. Vice Chairman's report.
The Association has now reached its 20th year - something that when Mike Owsley and I set it up in 2004 was an event we didn't believe we would reach. Given that none of us were exactly young twenty years ago it is something of an achievement that we have got this far. As we also know, sadly, a considerable number are not here to be part of this anniversary. (Richard then gave an update on our President and Vice President, having recently spoken to Barbara Smith and Mike Owsley, and Barbara and Dennis Parry).
It is for that reason, and our depleted numbers, that Jim and I have taken the decision - which must be ratified at this AGM - to make this our last formal meeting. This does not mean the end of the Association and we believe that going forward those who wish can still meet here at an annual AAJLR reunion, just not be concerned with an AGM. Those who have been voted into the various positions, despite some being very far from fit, should - in our view - retain them if they so wish but will no longer be required or expected to become involved in meetings. Given that two years ago we voted to finish with the fee paying membership, to now dispense with a formal AGM seems to us to be the next logical step.
So, I propose and Jim seconds the motion to make this meeting our final AGM.

Carried unanimously.

5. Secretary’s Report.
a. Usual plea try to remember to keep me in touch with any changes to your contact details.
b. The 20thAnniversary cake which turned out to be a very splendid cake has to be paid for and will be done through the proceeds of the Raffle, any monies left over will be given to the Blind veterans charity.
c. Copies of the 2024 AGM meeting will be posted on our Website and Facebook page for all to read, if anyone would like their own personal copy please get in touch.

7. AOB.
We must stress that there will still very much be the AAJLR Comrades Association and any relevant information will be passed on to members in the form of a report from the Vice Chairman and one from the Secretary. Also, we shall keep Ken Hart appraised of any changes for the website, and post on our Facebook page.
It was also said that owing to our shrinking numbers members should be encouraged to bring any members of their families along to the Reunion.

There being no further business this final AGM closed at 1635hrs.
