| Outward Bound - Easter 1963 |
| John is kneeling far right. Some 'Outward Bound' courses were a mixed bag myself being only school CCF. I read about them in a TA magazine and thought I'd give it a go, wrote to the commanding officer begging and to my surprise he replied "turn up at towyn on a given date and you are on." We did all the course except weapon training; canoeing, climbing, assault course and three day treck including the unforgettable Cader Idris. The same Sergeant instructor in my photo whose name I sadly can’t recall also appears in some of the AAJLR photos. |
