Terrence William Jamieson
Royal Corps Of Signals
Died 26th March, 2023.
 
Born in Consett on the 26th of August 1945.
 
At the age of 16, after leaving school, Terry enrolled in the Marine and Technical College in South Shields, where he had dreams of going into the Navy. However, the dreams were short lived after it was discovered he was colour blind.
 
Changing direction Terry joined the Royal Signals as a boy and was posted to the A.A.J.L.R., in Tonfanau, Wales.
 
  During his time there he made many friends, especially Larry Formosa, Dougie Hiscott and Charlie Hollinrake...The three remaining lifelong pals who met up regularly along with their wives and partners.  
 
Jim was a fine soldier and was well respected by all who came in contact with him.
 
Terry loved the army, getting to serve in Singapore, Borneo, and twice to Germany.
 
Terry made the rank of Sergeant while working alongside the Gurkha’s.
 
After a good few years in the army, Terry left to take up a position in the Bermuda prison service, where he remained for five years.
 
When Terry returned to England to work at Eldon Square where he would be promoted to Security Manager, a role he did for many years until retirement.
 
It was here that he met Annie who he would eventually marry in 1990, so beginning a long and very happy life together.
 
Sadly, Terry’s journey through life ended on the 26th of March, 2023.
