Sergeant Michael Skinner died after a road accident whilst serving in Cyprus on 2nd. May 1973. Sergeant Skinner joined the Junior Leaders in 1961 and then came to the Intelligence Corps in 1963. He served the Corps with distinction in Germany and Cyprus until his tragic death. He was a great sportsman and was the Army (Cyprus) long distance runner champion in 1965 and golf champion in 1971. He will be sadly missed by all members of the Corps and the sporting world.

Mick Skinner was originally in Normandy Platoon 'C' Company. On promotion to Junior Sergeant he was transferred to Rhine Platoon.
