Leader Magazine
WINTER 1961.
'B' COMPANY NOTES.
After enjoying the summer holidays, 'B' Company soon settled down to another good term's work and play at Tonfanau. Menai Camp was early this term, and in good weather, fishing and transistors were again a feature on the island, and one could hardly hear the 'spuds' being scraped for the sound of 'pop' from many sources.
Our congratulations this term go to J/R.S.M. Watts on his promotion, to J/Sgt. Collins on his selection as captain of the Regimental Rugby team, and to those Junior Leaders who have earned places in the other Regimental teams. A particularly good effort came from our boxers in the close match with the Gunner Junior Leaders.
We have had letters from several ex-members of the company including Doran, who says that his training here is a great advantage to him now; and Doolin, who is in Kenya, having recently left Kuwait. He is now a L/Cpl. and in the semi-finals of the Kenya Boxing.
Early next term 2/Lt. Firth leaves the Company. We wish him every success and thank him for his work for Somme and the Company.
