Leader Magazine
DECEMBER 1960.
CANOE CLUB NOTES.
Apart from the odd weekend trip, the weather has this term prevented us from enjoying any real canoeing yet. We have therefore spent most of our time on repairs, after the completion of which, we shall build about a dozen new double-seaters. The work has been easier in our new sheds and club-spirit thrives far better than when we were split up about the Camp.
Thanks to the generosity of the Nuffield Trust, we have taken delivery of six fine new folding canoes. We intend to use these excellent craft for races and other special occasions.
The strength of the Club this term stood at 39. J/Ldrs Campion, Edwards, Taylor, Sharpe, Georgeson, White, Boag, Montgomery, Ireland and Craig were awarded Canoe Union badges for their good work during the term.
Once again we must thank Sergeants Jackson, Johns and Wright for their hard work, and for giving up so much of their spare time to the hobby.
