DECEMBER 1960. |
'A' COMPANY NOTES. |
At the end of summer term, we were very sorry to bid farewell to the Company Commander, Major Langdon. At a Company Smoker in the Social Centre, Major Langdon was presented with a framed Company photograph by the Officers and Permanent Staff of the Company. We wish him well in making "fizzy drinks" in civilian life. |
Falaise I, after a most successful year, in which they won the inter-platoon football Shield and the platoon basketball competition, amalgamated into Balaclava, except for the Infantry J/Ldrs, who went to Gallipoli. Falaise II have now joined the Company and have made a good start. We hope they will emulate their fore-runners, who beside the sporting achievements mentioned above, won the Wakelin Shield, presented by J/Tpr Wakelin's father. |
Three boys of the Company have so far achieved 'B' gradings on Outward Bound courses, J/CSM Young, J/Cpl White and J/Tpr Summers. |
The inter-Company Football Cup has now been won by the Company twice, both this year and last. At present no less than five of the Company play football for the Regt. |
