Leader Magazine
Vol.3.No.3.                    November 1962
R COMPANY PARTY.
The party opened with an act from Two Platoon, in which three members represented the platoon on muster parade. The Act was called "Finlay's Frolics", and a fourth member of Two Platoon, played Sgt. Finlay. The next act from Two Platoon was entitled "Orders", in this Act two boys were marched in front of the O.C. and charged with eating cornflakes with their left hands, result C.B. for three days.
Then they showed how they would like orders done. Example: walked in, sat down and were charged with firing at the C.S.M. and missing. Punishment: three weeks shooting practice. After a few more acts from Two and Three Platoons, it was time for the interval.
After the interval it was the turn of one Platoon who all together put on six acts. In one of these acts Sgts. Tull, Faulkner, Gracie and Love were called on to the stage to imitate Grandfather clocks, when the compere had them swinging their arms, he addressed the group saying "And he called me a Zombie." Next the members of One Platoon presented Sgt. Faulkner with a seven pound jar of Bull's Eyes to represent the six weeks in "R" Coy. After a few jokes from Sgt. Tull, Sgt. Gracie played the mouth organ. The party concluded with a few songs from Sgt Finlay.
A very enjoyable evening.
