Leader Magazine
Vol.3.No.3.                    November 1962
EDITORIAL.
The wind of change blows strong behind the doors of the City Offices of the Beetlecrusher. Challenge The Daily Mirror. "Take over Bids!" "Bigger and Greater Greater public!
After half-term the Editor called a conference of departmental managers and issued the following statement,
"It has become obvious that the public demand for the Beetlecrusher has increased and that our edition of eight hundred copies was not enough. The paper now being on a permanent basis could well afford to increase its pages to include a greater variety of subjects giving a wider reading appeal, and also a possibility that the paper could become something that was not just read and thrown away, but was kept for its useful data and events of interest to the reader.
The outcome of this meeting was that a further two departments were opened up, and that the distribution of the paper has been put up to one thousand two hundred.
In this edition we have introduced certain new items. A precis of the events taking place in the many xxxxx areas of the world under the heading "World Affairs". A Film Review of forthcoming films and a series "The Different Histories of the Arms and Regiments". Our Crossword proved so popular that we hope to make this a regular event.
We have been most grateful to our typist Miss Sword for all her hard and tireless work in typing the past two editions and we will miss her more than she can understand when she leaves at the end of this month. I'm afraid it is back to one finger method for the next edition!
Staff Cook has gratefully presented us with a pigeon hole in the Orderly Room Mail Box. This means that any of our readers can contact the Editor by merely addressing mail to:-
The Editor,
The Beetlecrusher,
A.A.J.L.R.
and sending it through the normal Company channels.
We were delighted to get several letters from our readers which we have published and hope that we will have many more.
Our office buildings have greatly improved since we last went to press, and although there has been a certain dilemma over the packing cases which still surround us, we are told by the QM that the next time they move they will be gone far ever.
We now have lighting and heating and hope soon to have our new reading lamps installed.
Although we have had the usual last minute rush with this edition things have fallen much more into place than before so either this is a better edition or else is showing signs of bogging down. However we leave you to judge.
We add to this editorial a breakdown of the departments within the newspaper and mention the heads of departments.
